Merry Christmas

Can't believe it's Christmas tomorrow! Missed all the carols services; barely had time to buy presents for each other let alone friends and family; sadly haven't spent time reflecting on the birth of Christ; and Stu is on-call Christmas Day. Add to that some serious sleep deprivation; Noah having a particularly tough time with reflux and constipation; a snake in our backyard; cold wet windy weather in summer; lack of suitable rental accommodation in Hamilton; and poor Stu struggling to find ANY time to study... we're struggling to get into the Christmas spirit. Still, God is good and there is always reason to celebrate. Hope you all have a great Christmas and new year xoxo

Getting ready to travel

After two woeful attempts (involving 12 photo shoots) by the local Post Office staff to take Noah's passport photo I had a go myself and ta-dah... got one pretty easily. This one doesn't have a 'neutral expression' but was so cute I kept it anyway. Got a decent one with him looking relatively serious to use for the actual passport. We're now ready to go on holidays in January to NZ! yayy!!

Toothless Tiger no more

Last week Noah cut his first tooth... without much fuss too. It's super sharp so when he bites your shoulder or nose it's not fun anymore. He's devouring rusks (which make a HUGE mess) and eating pretty much anything we spoon into his mouth (assuming it's pureed and relatively runny). He's VERY talkative and says 'Mumma' all the time. Lots of happy squeals and giggles (unless he's being made to travel long distances in the car then he lets rip with some heartwrenching sobs and evens yells at us!). He can assume the crawling position but that's about it... almost looks like he'll walk before he'll crawl as he loves standing up. He's very clever finding things that you hide, and has an incredible reach! God has certainly blessed us with an amazing boy!

Great Weekend

Had a great weekend in Adelaide... caught up with friends; took Noah to the beach (he was intrigued but slightly scared of the ocean!); experienced heat for the first time since moving to the SE; ate at our favourite restaurant (Parisi's), Stuart did some shopping; Noah ate his first icypole; went to church at Kings (our home away from home); relaxed in the Adelaide Hills... awesome. Also got great news that some friends of ours will also be moving to Hamilton next year so Yayyyyyyy!! Very happy!!

Ahhh sleep!!

Praise God! Noah is now sleeping really well through the night, about 10 or 11 hrs! We've entered a new phase with Noah no longer being wrapped and it's working amazing well. We even went out last night to see a movie, leaving Noah sleeping at a friend's house, and not only did he go straight to sleep, but he even handled the disruption of being plonked into the car at midnight and driving home to Millicent without really waking. Such a good boy! Could also have had something to do with the ridiculously full tum he had after scoffing half a jar of banana custard for dinner!

Baby Baby Baby

It must seem from this blogsite that Noah is the centre of our lives... well, he tries hard, and he does consume most of our time, but honestly we don't get out much these days so the only pics we have are of Noah, plus this is a handy way for family to see our little guy grow up. Some non-baby related news... Spud's recovered from a nasty tummy bug and is looking forward to a night out with the girls on Friday; with less than 3 mths til the move we're thinking about rental opportunities in Hamilton; and no more forest walkies having spotted several snakes (and a pack of wild dogs!?).

Quite an achievement

Our little man has 'mastered' the art of sitting up all by himself. He lasts several minutes before tipping over now! Makes playtime for him so much more interesting and gives his tummy a rest.

A few words

Noah had his 6mth birthday on the weekend. Can't believe how quickly he's growing up. Started him on solids which is a slow and messy process. He pulls some pretty funny faces! He loves his Jolly Jumper, loves chewing on our noses and giving gooey "kisses", and is warming to the dogs. He's looking more and more like a Perry every day... he's lean (25th percentile for weight) and has suddenly shot up in height (around the 95th percentile!). NOah has survived the first 6mths of his life without any sickness which is pretty awesome (yay for breast feeding!). As for the rest of us, we're going well. Celebrating our 2nd Wedding Anniversary this weekend; picking up our new Honda CRV; and making plans for next year with Hamilton being confirmed for 2008.
